In January, a fifth-grade girl from Illinois who loves superheroes sent DC Comics a heartfelt letter, petitioning the company for more representation for female characters.

“I love your comics,” Rowan wrote, “but I would love them a lot more if there were more girls.”

DC Comics responded to Rowan on Twitter, tweeting “Thanks Rowan. We agree, we’re working hard to create more superhero fun for girls!”

On Friday, Rowan got to tell her story again, this time on national television when she appeared on the Today Show. At the end the segment, DC Comics thanks her again, and present her with one last token of their appreciation: a drawing of Rowan as a superhero (seen above).

Rowan mentions in the segment that she would like to see a Wonder Woman movie made. Well, as DC pointed out on Twitter, a Wonder Woman movie is in the works, as a well as a Supergirl television show.
