“But the story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him,” Peters told Details. X-Men fans will know that Magneto is Quicksilver’s father (or at least he was until a recent retcon), something hinted at in X-Men: Days of Future Past. “It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”

We know from previous interviews that Magneto will be living in relative obscurity, with a new family, when Apocalypse begins. It seems that Quicksilver will be trying to search Magneto out to try to find out the truth about their relationship. Following the death of his new family, Magneto becomes one of Apocalypse’s Horsemen, which likely leads Quicksilver to join up with the X-Men and attempt to prevent his father from helping Apocalypse cull the Earth.
