The Lower East Side Film Festival in New York Focuses largely on low-budget an innovative independent films, but it also likes to celebrate special moments in movie history. With the 25th anniversary, the LESFF is going to host a special screening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze, right on the heels of the new TMNT sequel.

The special event will include beer, wine, “miles and miles of pizza,” and a as-yet unannounced special appearance.

“I grew up completely obsessed with The Turtles,” said Festival Director Tony Castle in a statement to Comicbook.com. “Not only is it a great movie packed full of all the nostalgia of our childhood, it’s a great movie about trying to find a place to live in New York City, and what New Yorker can’t relate to that? While the sequel to the updated franchise, starring Megan Fox, will be hitting theaters June 3rd, we’re proud to honor the original sequel, that featured the Megan Fox of 1991 – Vanilla Ice.”

The LESFF includes judges Ethan Hawke, casting director and producer Cindy Tolan, Steve Farneth, and Raul Castillo, and runs from June 9-16th at Landmark Sunshine Cinema, Hotel Indigo, the new Ludlow House, The Standard East Village, and more venues. The festival includes films in the features, shorts, documentaries, experimental, foreign, animation, web series, and music video categories.

But on the second night, a week after Out of the Shadows premieres, you get a chance to see Secret of the Ooze on the big screen once more. For more information, head to The Lower East Side Film Festival website.
