In a new interview with MTV, embedded below, Justice League: Part One actor Ezra Miller, slated to play Barry Allen in The Flash in 2019, gave a little bit of insight into how he perceives the character, what makes his version of Barry tick…and just what he thinks of Grant Gustin playing the Scarlet Speedster on TV at the same time he’s developing a movie take.

Hint: He likes Gustin’s Flash basically as much as everyone else does.
“Barry Allen is the Silver Age, who follows a lot of interesting discoveries in physics,” Miller said. “Where he comes from is, we figured out the event horizon was there, and then he was the character who was created through our mythos machine of comic books to break that event horizon so we could explore in fantasy, and I think that’s an interesting idea. And what’s an interesting idea to me is, what does that do to someone?”

“I’m not avoiding it,” Miller said of The CW’s The Flash. “I’m not avoiding it at all. I think it’s awesome! And come on — we’re The Flash. It’s parallel universes. Grant Gustin is The Flash, and I’m The Flash, don’t you see? It’s the event horizon, we crossed it, baby. Grant and I are chillin’. We’re going to have a race. It’s gonna be dope. Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day.”
The Flash returns on The CW in October. Miller is rumored to be making a cameo as Barry Allen in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in March. Stay up to date on all the comic book movie release dates with our calendar here.
