Five Best Moments in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Full Trailer

At long last, the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has arrived, and it’s a doozy. There’s more about the story, deeper looks at the characters both new and old. You know what, let’s get right to it, here are the five coolest, most exciting, and best moments in the new trailer. And no, I promise this isn’t just five slides of “THE WHOLE THING AAAAAHHHHHH!” though that was tempting.

Rey’s Intro

  

The trailer opens with scenes focusing on Rey (Daisy Ridley). These were exciting for a couple of reasons. On one hand, it’s our first real introduction to te character, beyond still images and her brief appearances in the previous trailers. Second, the scenes of Rey navigating an abandoned structure – presumably the hallowed out Star Destroyer on Jakku – are absolutely beautiful.

Kylo Ren’s Menace

Kylo Ren is another character we’ve seen before, but haven’t really met until now. He really brings the menace home in this moment in the trailer, as he sets out to finish what Darth Vader started.

Han Solo Explains the Jedi

Hearing the Jedi and the Dark Side referred to as myths is interesting enough. Hearing the stories confirmed as true is also exciting. Having Han Solo be the one to do it is particularly special. It shows how far the character has come since he was the skeptic mocking Luke and Obi-Wan onboard the Falcon in A New Hope.

Leia and Han Embrace

This is a wonderful reintroduction to Leia Organa. The powerful princess is as essential to Star Wars as her cohorts, but this one moment turns our expectation of the character on its head, and in doing so communicates just how strong Leia’s emotional bond with her (presumed) husband, Han, is.

Finn vs. Kylo Ren

  

We didn’t know it at the time, but this is the moment we’ve been building up to since the very first teaser for The Force Awakens. Here we finally see Kylo Ren approaching Finn, lightsaber in hand, and the Dark Side and the Light ready to battle once again.
