While Marvel Studios might have a policy against commenting on rumors about their films, the same cannot be said for their directors. When the Internet was ablaze with rumors of Spider-Man having a cameo in The Avengers, it was Avengers director Joss Whedon himself who eventually shot down the rumors. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has shot down Guardians of the Galaxy rumors during an online question and answer session, even though we’re not entirely sure what rumors he has shooting down. When someone requested an interview, James Gunn replied, “I can’t even do any interviews at all right now. This is the closest thing. And – btw – I can’t answer all these Guardians of the Galaxy questions right now. We have lots of surprises in store for you guys, but we can’t let them out for a while. That said, don’t believe everything your read!”While James Gunn doesn’t specify what not to believe, the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy rumors to gain steam online involve the casting of Drax the Destroyer, so the likely assumption might be that he’s addressing those rumors. However, he could also be referencing the Iron Man tie into the Guardians of the Galaxy rumor, which he previously shot down back in November 2012, when it was first reported by Comicbook.com. With the emergence of the Deep Space Suit armor in Iron Man 3, the rumor about Iron Man making an appearance in Guardians of Galaxy has gained more steam this year. There have even been rumored descriptions emerge of the Iron Man 3 after the credits scene, which detail Tony Stark’s departure into space. While James Gunn wouldn’t address specifics about Guardians of the Galaxy, he did answer one final question on if he would like to work for Marvel Studios again. James Gunn replied, “Okay one more – without a doubt. So far, working with Marvel has been the highlight of my working life. I love these guys.”Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released in theaters on August 1, 2014.
