Coming off the always-spectacular Fourth of July weekend at the U.S. box office, Marvel will have less than a month to promote the film…and during that time, a week or so will be eaten up by Comic Con International: San Diego at the end of July. To keep fans’ eyes on the ball, the studio is apparently hoping that a not-insignificant investment in promotion on their part will get fans hooked on a feeling.
The screenings will be held at select theaters and you need to sign up for SeeItFirst account (free, no requirements except being an adult) in order to reserve tickets, but it’s a first-come, first-served screening and it’s likely some theaters will overbook, so you probably want to arrive early.
Those who attend the screening will get a free copy of the poster above, a commemorative, limited-edition exclusive that will look as good in your home-office as it does on your eBay feedback profile (we kid, we kid…).
You can check out the official Facebook posting from the Marvel/Guardians of the Galaxy page below.
Guardians of the Galaxy is due in U.S. theaters on August 1. It stars Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista and is directed by James Gunn.
Fans interested in attending the SeeItFirst screenings can check out their website here and reserve a spot! You’re welcome.
