While he’s unlikely to appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is set years before his character would likely even be born, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega has already paid a visit to the set of the storied franchise’s next installment — and he’s glad he did.
‘Rogue One’ set was good fun! Epic as usual!

The current plan is for Episode films and A Star Wars Story films to alternate, with one movie set in the universe of Star Wars coming out every year, giving Disney another reliable source of blockbuster revenue besides Marvel and Pixar.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.
Rogue One takes place closer to Episode IV than to any of the other films in the Star Wars saga so far, so the helmet in the center being a replication of the original Stormtrooper helmet makes a lot of sense. The other two seem to be new, with the one on the left resembling something an imperial pilot might wear. The one on the right is a little harder to label for certain. The red on the visor suggests Rebel Alliance, but it could belong to a bounty hunter or other independent party. It could also be an unusually designed, environment specific Imperial helmet.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.
