Hideo Kojima has been making waves in the video game world with his admittedly bitter breakup from Konami. The celebrated creator then went on to stun E3 audiences when he showed up at the annual convention and introduced his company’s upcoming title, Death Stranding. Kojima Productions has been spawning headlines all over the world since. And, over the busy Comic-Con weekend, the company finally released their stunning logo trailer.

Kojima tweeted ahead of the reveal, asking fans to watch an exclusive interview they conducted with IGN. While Kojima kept quiet on Death Stranding, he did showcase the logo movie. For those who’re unfamiliar with the term, Kojima’s logo movie is simply the clip that’ll preface each of the studio’s games.

The dark trailer stands at just over 30 seconds and centers around Luden, the company’s newly announced mascot. The skeletal astronaut was shown to fans earlier this year as Kojima said the character embodied the “frontier spirit” of the studio. The mascot can be seen standing upon a desolate planet as he sticks a holographic flag pole into the rocky terrain. And, then, a whale appears – no, seriously. A large, holographic whale can be seen bursting out from behind Luden. Finally, the CGI scene then shifts into a simple black screen showing Kojima’s static logo.

If you’re particularly fond of the trailer, or of Luden really, then Kojima will soon be bringing the space explorer to a collector’s gallery near you. The studio said they would be working with 1000 Toys and Good Smile Company to produce both a high- and low-end Luden figure. The hyperrealistic version stuns with its on-point details, and Good Smile Company’s Luden figurine is down-right adorable with its exaggerated features.

Death Stranding, which will famously feature The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus, currently has no release date. However, fans are expecting to see the game debut on current generation consoles and PC when it debuts.
