If you’re making a shared universe for your films, the trendy way to generate buzz for your next film is by adding a post-credit scene on the end. You know it, I know it, Kevin Feige sure knows it.

And the team setting up the sure-to-be epic brawl between King Kong and Godzilla definitely knows it. โ€จโ€จNext week’s Kong: Skull Islandโ€”currently the 13th Most Anticipated Film as rated by ComicBook.com usersโ€”has been previewed around and the folks at Flickering Myth managed to get a peak at the post-credits scene in the film.

The scene builds up the MonsterVerse and hinting at an epic battle to take place in the soon-to-be filming Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The Godzilla sequel might bring back a few familiar monsters that will have fans of the Toho creations losing their minds, as we reported on a couple of weeks ago.

Now we have direct confirmation as the post-credits scene hints at the additions of King Ghidora, Rodan, and Mothra.

In the scene, Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson‘s characters are being interrogated behind a two-way mirror after surviving the events of Kong: Skull Island. Representatives of MONARCH, the shady company keeping tabs on all of these monsters for the betterment of humanity, come out from behind the glass and reveal the nuclear blast which created Godzilla as well as cave paintings depicting the aforementioned monsters.

Former director Gareth Edwards hinted that he wanted those monsters in the sequel to his Godzilla reboot, before ultimately departing the big budget project to direct the much quieter, smaller Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

It looks like those plans haven’t been abandoned, so expect to see a lot more mayhem in Godzilla: King of Monsters, which has been ramping up in production.
