The DreamWorks Animation sequel is now on pace for $40M-$41M weekend, which is slightly behind Kung Fu Panda 2’s $47.7M opening weekend. Kung Fu Panda 3 should benefit from good-word-of-mouth as audiences gave it an ‘A’ CinemaScore and according to PostTrak 72% of the audience would recommend it.
