Legion of Superheroes Movie

With Warner Bros. having set released dates for nine untitled DC Comics movies, there has been lots of speculation about what those movies will be. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has already confirmed that one of them will be Shazam, but the other eight are a little less certain.

According to Latino-Review, Warner Bros. is actively starting to develop a Legion of Superheroes movie, but they are not sure if it is one of the nine untitled DC Comics movies are not. The Legion of Superheroes movie interest seems to be a recent development, likely spurred by the tremendous box office success of Guardians of the Galaxy.

According to Latino-Review’s sources, Warner Bros. has been sending out copies of the Legion of Superheroes comic books to screenwriters to get them to pitch their movie takes on the characters. Warner Bros. would then hire the screenwriter(s) with the best ideas.

The Legion of Superheroes are a superhero team that operate in the 30th and 31st centuries of the DC Comics Universe. While the Legion of Superheroes debuted well before the Guardians of the Galaxy, most in the press will likely refer to them as DC Comics version of the Guardians, since the Guardians made it to the big screen first. The Legions of Superheroes made their debut in 1958 in Adventure Comics #247.
