The untitled LEGO Batman film, a spinoff from the first LEGO Movie, will now premiere on February 10, 2017, instead of May 26, 2017. Then, in 2018, The LEGO Movie 2 will jump ahead one week for a new release date of May 18.
Coming at the expense of these new dates is LEGO’s Ninjango film, which Warner Bros. pushed back from Fall 2016 to September 22, 2017.
“We are very excited about dating our upcoming LEGO animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film. These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come,” Warner Bros. executives Dan Fellman and Veronika Vandberg said in a joint statement.
