In the episode’s final moments, Felicity delivered a devastating verbal takedown of Oliver’s decision to work with Malcolm Merlyn against Ra’s al Ghul, culminating in what seems to be the end of hopes for Oliver and Felicity to be together in the near future.
Coming on the heels of Oliver’s triumphant return to Starling City, of course, the gut-punch of those last lines stung even more for fans, and all last night, social media was crackling with responses ranging from outrage to praise.
“Proud of the balls you guys have. Keep swinging for the stars,” said comic book writer Joshua Hale Fialkov on Facebook in response to the posting.
