Director Matthew Vaughn said from day one that a Kingsman sequel is the hands of audiences. If they come out and see the first one there will be another. This past week, the film crossed $300M at the worldwide box office, which means a sequel get a green light from 20th Century Fox fairly soon.

Vaughn said if there is a sequel he plans on giving Mark Strong’s ‘Merlin’ character a sassy upgrade with wigs and velvet suits. How’s Strong feel about that? “I’m up for it,” Strong said at the 2015 Jameson Empire Awards. “With Matthew anything goes. Every single time he comes in with an idea for a film and he tells you what it is – ‘What? Really?’ – it is completely different than what’s come before. But every time he nails it. He’s made what, five movies now? And every single one has been great! He has a real talent for knowing what people like. So, if he says let’s go down the sassy route I’m all for it.”

“I don’t know what he’s got in mind, but something to do with dandy super-spies,” Strong added.
