If your preferred format for comic book television is Apple’s iTunes, you’re getting a new experience for season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Super Room is a new feature in the iTunes Store that delivers a custom experience centered around the project. It also means there’s more corporate synergy than ever available to content providers.

In the new Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Super Room, fans can pre-order a Season Pass for the third season, which promises to expand on the reveal of the Inhumans and Skye’s journey now that she knows she’s really Daisy Johnson aka Quake, a super-powered Inhuman, and part of a larger society of powered individuals. With the season pass, an exclusive featurette focused on Brett Dalton’s Grant Ward (the new head of Hydra) gets delivered immediately.
Rather than a “users also bought” list on the bottom, though, there’s a new “More to Explore” section. The section features links to Agent Carter season 1, a natural, but also the S.H.I.E.L.D. podcast on Marvel.com, direct download links to Marvel Comics and Marvel Unlimited apps, and even purchase links for the S.H.I.E.L.D. volume 1 trade and Secret Warriors volume 1 trade from Marvel Comics. The latter two are especially interesting, as the first is a comic that puts the TV characters firmly in the Marvel universe, while the other will likely be drawn from in season 3, which holds “Secret Warriors” as its subtitle.
Fans can also buy seasons 1 and 2 for $20 each for a limited time to celebrate the new feature and play catch-up, but we should note those seasons are also currently available to subscribers on Netflix for no additional charge.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 debuts September 29, 2015 on ABC.
