Ming-Na Wen Says She And The Rock Would Be Unstoppable If Their Characters Teamed Up

Ming-Na Wen plays Director Coulson’s stoic right hand, Agent Melinda May (a.k.a. The Cavalry, just not to her face) on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In real life, she also friends with Fast and Furious star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who plays Agent Luke Hobbs in the films.

We spoke to Wen ahead of tonight’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and, being comic book nerds, we had to throw the classic question at her: Who would win in a fighter between Agent May and Agent Hobbs?

“Oh gosh. I don’t know, I never want to go against Dwayne Johnson, that’s for sure,” Wen laughed. “Just watching his Instagram, when he works out at four in the morning, talk about man on a mission. I don’t know. I think it would be a very intense battle between the two of them, for sure.”

But why fight when the two can join forces?

“Instead of fighting each other, I think they could amazing damage together against other people,” she said. “The man version of the Calvary, and the female version of the Calvary. It’s like the Yin and the Yang. They’d be unstoppable.”

Sounds like a classic comic book team up story if we’ve ever heard one.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
