According to Hollywood Reporter, tracking services already place the film to open in the preliminary $130 million range. With the premiere drawing near, insiders believe the figures stand to grow immensely. There’s plenty of reason for that belief.

Tickets for Mockingjay pt. 1 went on sale Wednesday, and quickly became Fandango and MovieTickets.com’s top-selling title of the year to date. On MovieTickets.com, Mockingjay sold more advance tickets on its first day than its prequel Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Catching Fire earned $864.6 million worldwide, including $439.9 million internationally. In 2012, The Hunger Games opened to $152.5 million on its way to global earnings of $691.2 million.

The current 2014 record-holder for highest opening debut is Transformers: Age of Extinction at $100 million.

In Mockingjay pt. 1, Katniss Everdeen finds herself in District 13 after she destroys the games. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.
