The mobile version of Mortal Kombat X is a free-to-play blend of fighting game and collectible card game. The game is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, and is expected to release in April. It looks pretty similar to the mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us, and as with that game, playing the mobile Mortal Kombat X will unlock content in the console and PC versions.
“NetherRealm Studios has created aย Mortal Kombat Xย mobile experience that allows more players than ever before to play this over-the-top fighting game through their ever-present smartphones, tablets or other devices,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios in a press release. “What’s more, we’ve expanded the unique cross-connectivity feature that links the mobile and console versions of Mortal Kombat X,ย delivering unique rewards to all players for simply playing the mobile game.”
Mortal Kombat X mobile promises to feature fighting, card collecting, and multiplayer team combat plus Mortal Kombat‘s signature Fatalities, legendaryย Mortal Kombatย characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden, and some of the new characters being introduced in Mortal Kombat X proper.
Mortal Kombat X will release on console and PC on April 14, 2015.
