The opening rounds of ComicBook.Com’s Multiversal March Madness continue! Though DC and Marvel Comics are breaking the piggy bank on their endless realities with events Convergence and Secret Wars later this spring, the bracket fever from the NCAA March Madness has our minds stuck on the tournament style crossover event.

Like we explained in our opening post (where you can vote on different battles), we’re leaving to you to choose the winners in our own cross-company tournament. We’re in throwing in a nifty secret prize for the players with a winning bracket. But enough chit-chat. It’s time to get in the super-powered paint with the first round’s combatants.

Pre-Crisis Earth S (Captain Marvel Family) Vs. Red Rain (Vampire Universe)

Pre-Crisis Earth S (Captain Marvel Family)
Stats: The happy-go-lucky world of Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, Captain Marvel, Jr., and of course, Marvel Bunny. In this overly optimistic reality that makes The Lion King look racy, The Captain Marvel Family routinely saves the day from Dr. Sivana’s borderline endearing attempts at villainy.

Strength: Power-levels rivaling Superman’s: Even the undead should fear a league of demi-gods.

Weakness: Dark magic and mysticism, which the Red Rain universe practically bleeds. And on that note, they’re probably pretty squeamish at the sight of blood.

Red Rain (Vampire Universe)

Stats: After Batman was bit by Dracula himself, he proceeded to infect the rest of the Justice League with his vampiric virus. Soon after, the world transformed into nightmare universe where if you’re not dead, you’re undead.

Strength: Immortality, and an insatiable appetite. While Earth S’ inhabitants are merely trying to save the day, Red Rain’s league is also looking for their next meal.

Weakness: Sunshine and happiness, which Earth S has in spades.

Will Batman’s Vampire League drain the Marvel Family dry, or will the power of Shazam! prevail? Decide in the poll below!
