According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has decided to pass on their contemporary and grown-up take on the super-sleuth from the iconic Nancy Drew book series.
The pilot was written and produced by Grey’s Anatomy executive producers Joan Rater and Tony Phelan and starred Person of Interest‘s Sarah Shahi.
“Sources say Drew, which co-starredAnthony Edwards and Vanessa Ferlito, did not come in as strong as the network would have hoped,” THR adds. “Multiple industry observers noted that it was a toss-up between Katherine Heigl legal drama Doubt and Drew for the remaining drama slot at the network.”
Now in her 30s, Nancy is a detective for the NYPD where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world.
