After talking about some of the other things he wished he’d gotten into his epic Star Wars filibuster on Parks and Recreation, Oswalt got into movies. Among other things, he said that he hasn’t actually got an opinion on The Force Awakens yet, as he feels it isn’t right to opine on such things if you haven’t seen any of the actual film yet.

His favorite comic book movie of this century? Well, if you’re talking superheroes, it’s all about Spider-Man 2 (and yes, he liked Andrew Garfield as Spidey in the Amazing movies, but that’s not the one he’s talking about)…but getting away from superheroes and talking about just a great comic book movie? He says it’s all about American Splendor (which, weirdly, starred Paul Giamatti from The Amazing Spider-Man 2).
What does he think of DC? Well, he thinks they’re not “diverse” enough — but not in terms of color and creed, rather in terms of the tone and approach to the characters, saying that Batman works as a brooding character but most of the other DC heroes don’t.
That said, he’d still love to play Wesley Dodds in a movie about DC’s Golden Age.
