After the Academy announced their five nominees for the category earlier this morning, which included just about every other animated film in 2014, Lord went on Twitter to address the snub. If the Academy wasn’t going to give him an Oscar, he figured he’d just make his ownโ€”out of Legos.

Lord followed the humorous post by writing “This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of the The Lego Movie, who made a classic.”

The Best Animated Feature nominees for the 2015 Awards areย Big Hero 6,ย The Boxtrolls,ย How To Train Your Dragon 2,ย Song of the Sea,ย andย The Tale of the Princess Kagyua.

Despite its Oscar snub, The Lego Movie was one of the most celebrated animated films of the year, earning a 96% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and pulling in $257.7 million at the domestic box office. Comparatively, Oscar nominee Big Hero 6 only earned $214.7 million at the domestic box office and an 88% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.ย
