Irish actor Pierce Brosnan, 61, played James Bond four times, from 1995 to 2002. While appearing on a radio program the other day he offered his own suggestions for who might make a good Bond when Daniel Craig (“Skyfall”) exits the role.

His first suggestion is fan-favorite Idris Elba (“Pacific Rim”) and then a former Bond co-star. “Yeah, he [Idris Elba] would make a good Bond,” Brosnan told a British radio station (via Daily Mail). “Colin Salmon also. May the best man get the job and may Daniel (Craig) bring home the bacon for as long as he wants.”
Late last year when Sony emails had leaked out, one of them revealed that Sony was interested in Idris Elba as Craig’s successor. From there, people reacted very positive to the news while others, like Rush Limbaugh, couldn’t look past the actor’s darker skin color.ย
Elba has appreciated the attention for the most part and likes that he is being associated with a role that is usually played by handsome actors. He even confessed that he would take the role in a heartbeat if it was offered to him.
Salmon is a bit out of the blue. He previously worked with Brosnan on The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day. Salmon played the role of MI6 Deputy Chief of Staff Charles Robinson.
Spectre will be released on November 6, 2015.
