It makes sense. After the buzz dies down from Pokemon GO, many of them aren’t the high profile stars like Pikachu and Mewtwo are, so they’ll need to branch out into other lines of work, and this newest mashup trailer shows just how that might go.
The team responsible for the entertaining trailer is Darth Blender. They’ve taken some of the most popular Pokemon and put them into film classics like Indiana Jones, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, the Lord of the Rings franchise, Minions, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, Deadpool, and many more.
Pokemon GO even manages to make an appearance in Netflix’s House of Cards, though I doubt it would be something that Frank would find interesting. If Frank Underwood were a Pokemon trainer, I imagine he would have them all fighting against each other and dwindling their numbers so he could better rule over them, and he would probably just hate Jigglypuff, Pikachu, and others like them just based on their cuteness factor alone.
Darth Blender is made up of Felipe Haurelhuk (Producer), Fabricio Carvalho (Screenplay), Wesley Martins (Editor), Tony Pereira (Sound Designer), Rubens Macedo (Location), Marcio Sal & Alexandre Perrotta (CG & VFX), and Camila Oka (Subtitles & Social Media). You can view more of their work here.
