Inspired by original screen-filmed props, Roddenberry says that “this evolving line of collectible replicas blends painstaking attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.”
Roddenberry’s merchandising roots extend back to 1967, when Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and his wife, actress Majel Barrett Roddenberry, first published their Lincoln Enterprises catalog. Inspired by fan requests for Star Trek memorabilia, their mail-order business focused on authentic Star Trek merchandise including scripts, storyboards, props, film clip frames and more.
“My family has enjoyed offering fans Star Trek merchandise starting nearly 5 decades ago, and we are proud to continue that tradition with this new line. Fans are able to bring a quality piece of the Star Trek legacy into their homes in a whole new way with these beautifully crafted replicas,” said Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, president of Roddenberry Entertainment.
In partnership with artisans, prop-makers and manufacturers, the Roddenberry Legacy Series line will offer a variety of iconic pieces, each furthering the shared legacy of Star Trek. Launching the Roddenberry Legacy Series are the Klingon Bat’leth, currently available for sale, and the Star Trek Starfleet TR-590 Mark IX Science Tricorder, available for pre-sale. Additional products in the Series will follow shortly.
