Pegg says, “Feel lucky that I got to read @EdgarWright and Joe Cornish’s Ant-Man script. Daring, fun, funny and hugely exciting. Shame we won’t see it.”
The “daring” part of the script may have been what ultimately led to Wright leaving the film over “creative differences” with Marvel Studios.
Of course it’s no surprise that Pegg enjoyed Wright’s script. Pegg was one of the stars in all three of Wright’s “Cornetto Trilogy” films, where Wright displayed his signature style which has gained him the following he has today.
Marvel Studios has since replaced Wright with Peyton Reed as director. Adam McKay will rewrite Wright’s script.
Ant-Man is scheduled to open in theaters on July 17, 2015.
