One fan with equal adoration for hot on bread and George Lucas’ Galaxy Far, Far Away created the ultimate nexus in foodie and geek culture by building a stormtrooper uniform completely out of Domino’s boxes. It’s about a delicious of an idea as you’d expect, which the artist, Phillip Figueroa, constructed for a recycled objects fashion show. Naturally, it took Dominoes about as long to discover Figueroa’s costume on social media as it does to deliver a pizza, and quickly tractor beamed the work in for some galactic empireโwe mean, coporate promotion.
“When I saw the artwork on Instagram, I knew we had to have it,” said Amanda Platt, Domino’s spokesperson in a release. “It’s not everyday you see our brand combined with one of Hollywood’s most iconic series. We’re very excited to display this expression of Domino’s fandom at our headquarters.”
However, Figuera said that he was appreciative of the galactic spotlight that Domino’s put on his stormtrooper, saying “I’m still in awe and thankful that my artwork will be on display at Domino’s world headquarters,” said Figueroa. “I’m glad I was able to use these two major franchises to bring awareness to the recycling cause.”
You can check out the full costume in the gallery below.
Now, all we need is for someone to dress up like Pizza The Hut from Mel Brooks’ Star Wars spoof Spaceballs, and we’ll have the tastiest Star Wars team-up on this side of the force.
