Back in March the fifth installment of the film was made official: “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios in a press release. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

So, with this years news that Indiana Jones 5 is actually happening, Harrison Ford signing on and composer John Williams returning, the one of the things we don’t know about the film is… what actually happens? Well, that and what’s the title, though twitter did have a field day with this idea a while back).
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter director and producer Steven Spielberg had this to say about the upcoming Indy film:
Spielberg says he’s “super excited” about that movie, dated for July 2019: “I think this one is straight down the pike for the fans.” He won’t reveal plot details, except this: “The one thing I will tell you is I’m not killing off Harrison [Ford] at the end of it.”
So, let the rumors fly that there will be a Indiana Jones 6. Maybe the aliens will return and take Shia LaBeouf away, we can dream, can’t we?
Before Spielberg gets to even begin filming the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise he’s got quite a bit to do. He’s committed to direct The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara and Ready Player One and has several films that he’s producing. As we reported last week, Ready Player One is an adaptation of the novel written by Earnest Cline. The story takes place in 2044 and follows a teenager named Wade Watts as he embarks on a search for a hidden Easter Egg in the digital world of OASIS.
