As reported by Variety, CBS is looking to renew the show for another two seasons, bringing it to a total of twelve seasons. So far, no word about the deal has been given by either CBS or Warner Bros. However, the new reports due indicate that conversations are likely being had with the main stars of The Big Bang Theory. The show’s core cast consists of Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar, and Kaley Cuoco. The stars’ current contracts are set to expire at the end of this season along with CBS’ license agreement with Warner Bros.

Right now, reports stated the two seasons would be full ordered so there would be about 24 episodes per season. Previously, reports had speculated the orders may be shortened to accommodate the cast’s growing project commitments and salaries. Not long ago, Deadline reported that the core cast was eyeing a salary that would pay them about $1 million per episode. Other fan-favorite cast members like Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch are also reported to be signing new deals with Warner Bros. for The Big Bang Theory as well.

At the beginning of this year, fans learned that CBS was moving forward with renewing contracts for the show. Deadline confirmed that the network’s presidnt Glenn Geller said negotiations were on-going.

“These are going to be, I think, the normal tough negotiations when you in a situation like this but we are guardedly optimistic,” he said
