Earlier this week, The Big Bang Theory executive producer Steve Molaro teased that the Season 8 finale would contain big, life-changing decisions. Well, the episode ended in a cliffhanger involving one of those big, life-changing decisions.
In “The Commitment Determination” episode, Sheldon and Amy kiss, but Amy gets annoyed when Sheldon stops to asks her if she thought he should start watching the new Flash TV series. At the end of the episode, Amy tells Sheldon via video chat that being his girlfriend is emotionally draining and that she needs to take some time to re-evaluate the situation.
After Amy hangs up, Sheldon asks his Gollum statue, “Well, Gollum, you’re an expert on rings, what do I do with this one?” Then, Sheldon opens up a case with an engagement ring inside. The episode ends with the cliffhanger over what Sheldon will decide to do next.
