While the original header graphics were basically a headshot and a logo, the new image is more action- and effects-oriented, with a slightly different logo and a much larger scale. During Comic Con International: San Diego last month, the network split the difference, with full-body banners of The Flash star Grant Gustin running.
This one also features both the official premiere date (missing from the original as it had not yet been set) and a recommended hashtag (#InAFlash) for the series (since both #flash and #TheFlash would probably be overcrowded with unrelated material).
Of course, given that particular hashtag — a reference to a piece of dialogue in the pilot episode — and the funnel cloud, it could be that this banner is specific to the premiere and that each week we’ll have a new image and social media push to go with it.
The Flash debuts October 7 on The CW. It stars Gustin alongside Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, John Wesley Shipp, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett and Carlos Valdes.
