When The X-Files returns to television next year, the series’ main cast should feel anything but lonely.
That’s because The Lone Gunmen, the X-Files’ trio of conspiracy theorists, are set to appear in Fox’s six-episode event. The three characters were played by Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood. Haglund, who played the gunman “Ringo,” confirmed his and his compatriots’ return on Twitter today.

In the original X-Files series, the Lone Gunmen were a fan-favorite amongst the show’s extended cast. The threesome proved to be so popular that they earned a short-lived spinoff series before apparently dying in the X-Files’ ninth season. How the upcoming revival series plans to reincorporate the theorists remains to be seen, but a handy pseudo-scientific explanation that even Scully could believe may be just around the corner.
The X-Files hits FOX on January 24, 2016.
