The CW and Archie Comics have released an extended preview for Riverdale‘s next episode, “Anatomy of a Murder,” in which the town will finally learn who killed Jason Blossom.
The murder was the precipitating event of the season, but while it’s been running in the background all year long it’s hardly the focus of the character-driven drama, which tends to center primarily on the fractured relationships and hidden agendas of the titular, once-idyllic small town.

While the trailer (obviously) doesn’t give away who killed Jason to the audience, we get a little more footage — including Penelope Blossom responding to allegations that she might be the killer — in the teaser, which is an extended take on the one released moments after Thursday’s episode aired.
We also get a look at Hermione Lodge breaking down in tears: does that mean that her husband was involved with the murder — or just that he’s on his way home?
It also looks like we’re going to find out just who torched Jason’s car — although we’re pretty sure that’s either FP or Joaquin, right? Wasn’t that established in the episode where FP gives Joaquin the jacket for safekeeping?
In any event, next week’s Riverdale is going to be a big one, and here’s your latest look at it.
In “Anatomy of a Murder,” Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) are shocked to learn of the arrest but know they need to come clean to their parents about what they uncovered.Still hurt by the betrayal of his friends and torn over who to trust, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) reluctantly joins them in a quest for truth.Meanwhile, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) confronts her mom about why she treats her so much worse than she ever did with Jason.
