X-Files fans got an unexpected early reunion between the show’s two leads, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, when Anderson joined Duchovny on stage at The Cutting Room in New York.
Duchovny was performing songs from his new album, Hell or HIghwater, and invited Anderson on stage to perform a cover of Neil Young’s “Helpless.” The performance was captured on stage and can be seen embedded below.

Anderson, along with Duchovny’s former Californication co-star Madeleine Martin, joined Duchovny on stage again for a rendition of Sly & the Family Stone’s “Thank You.”
Duchovny and Anderson will reprise their roles as Agents Mulder and Scully when The X-Files returns for a 6-episode limited event, beginning January 24, 2016.
