The advent of the Internet has helped artists all over the world share their amazing artwork. The anonymous artist has been sharing their artwork online for awhile now. So far, Tamtamdi has drawn more than 250 Pokémon Ginjinka pieces which incorporate both 1st and 2nd generation creatures. Each piece is given a completely unique aesthetic that can range from cute to chic or even traditional.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Tamtamdi said one drawing can take between thirty minutes to an hour to finish. As for why they began the project, the artist said it started as a self-study after graduation. “I started working as a character designers,” Tamtamdi explained. “I was looking for some fun, long self-study project, and since I love Pokémon, [I thought] it might be a good daily practice.”

For several Pokémon, Tamtamdi has taken the time to create on-going themes. For instance, all ‘Nurse Pokémon’ are depicted as nurses, so you can look forward to Wigglytuff’s treatement. The South Korean artist also looked into the past to find a cute aesthetic for Pikachu. All electric-type mouse Pokémon wear a piece of traditional Korean clothing called a Hanbok.

Following the popularity of Pokémon GO, Tamtamdi’s artwork has become increasingly viral. The artist took to Facebook to thank their supporters, saying they felt “very lucky, thankful, and motivated” by everyone’s praise.

“A lot of people has been respecting my work and I really appreciate that they do. and that really helps me draw faster and happier,” they said.

Of course, it is easy to see that Tamtamdi has a lot of amazing artwork to look through. When asked if there was a particular piece that gave them trouble, the artist said Unown was a definite challenge. “It was fun,” Tamtamdi said, “but drawing 28 forms was not easy…For that one, [it] took me 5 hours.”

As for the piece they are proudest of, Tamtami said it was hard to pick – something that is totally understandable. After all, all of the artist’s pieces are something to be proud of. However, they did say they are “extra happy” when they can show off different cultures through their gijinka artwork.

And, if you’re wondering whether Tamtamdi is a Pokémon fanatic, then you will be happy to hear they are. The artist admits they have always been a fan of Pokémon. “I wanted the animation series when I was 7 and still play the game,” Tamtamdi confessed.
