Aspiring Pokemon GO trainers are at this point well aware of items like Lucky Eggs and Incense, but you probably didn’t know that you could get a lot more uses out of at least one of those.

As you know, both Incense attracts Pokemon to your current location, while Lucky Eggs double your XP. Both are highly coveted, and only last up to 30 minutes. Thanks to Business Insider, however, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.

The site discovered that with a simple adjustment to your phone’s clock settings, you can get a substantially longer effect from both items, and you don’t have to install anything extra to make it work. This works on both iPhones and Androids.

Simply start out by using an Incense item. After it’s in effect, exit out of Pokemon GO and pull up your phone’s settings. Once there select the time and date option, and then turn off the phones “Set Automatically” option.

After that is completed, head to the time setting and set the clock back by no more than 30 minutes. When you pull up the game again, you’ll notice the timer for your item has increased by however much time you set your clock back.

The effect will now last even longer, though it won’t work on Lucky Eggs. Still, if you have multiple lucky eggs, this would be a great way to maximize them. If the process worked for you, let us know in the comments.
