The actor explained to us his process of finding the correct portrayal of Hank Williams. “It’s a strange process of osmosis,” Hiddleston dubbed his approach. “It’s a little bit of academic research, reading biogrophies and finding out what people said about him. It’s coming to Nashville.”

The actor went to extreme depth to learn the character based on a real man, especially the Williams’ singing. “Working on my rhythm, really working on my voice, and mastering the yodel,” Hiddleston explained, joking, “There comes a time in a man’s life when he is called upon to yodel and for some it occurs later than others, for me, it happened when I was 33!”

As for Thor: Ragnarok, Hiddleston either dodged our question of whether or not Loki and the Hulk will have any moments such as “Puny God,” from The Avengers if and when they reunite in the third film or he truly has no idea what’s coming in 2017. “I don’t know anything about it yet,” Hiddleston said. “We’ll see.”

I Saw The Light hits theaters March 25, 2016. Thor: Ragnarok is set for release November 3, 2017.
