Top 5 Moments From Civil War Super Bowl Spot

The Captain America: Civil War Super Bowl trailer is finally here and with 3 months away until the movie’s release, there’s still plenty to see, but they hype is very real right now. Even though it’s less than a minute long, there was plenty to see and get excited for.

So let’s take a look at the top 5 moments of the trailer (sorry, Spider-Man, looks like you still have to wait a bit longer to show up).

Could The Casualties Start To Pile Up?

 

Nothing we haven’t seen before, but it looks like the fate of James “Rhodey” Rhodes is uncertain. Since the first trailer, we see that War Machine takes a huge hit and could be taken out permanently. It is unlikely that Marvel would show a bomb this big in a trailer, but it comes to show you that after Quicksilver, some bets are off on who makes it out alive. 

 

“You chose the wrong side.”

 

Tony Stark is unamused. 

I guess when somebody you thought was a good friend turns on you and gets back with an old buddy and you find yourself suddenly on the outs it stings, right? 

Tony, armored up, confronts Cap and Bucky who are on the defensive and is having none of their business. With a vague threat, he tells Steve that he chose the wrong the side of this war. Iron Man doesn’t have a lot of “quiet moments”, but when they strike, they strike hard. 

Brothers At Arms

 

Once a solider, always a solider. 

Shown briefly, Cap and Bucky are in position from a seemingly approaching Iron Man. Both men are skilled tacticians and weapons experts, but they’re in a completely different place where they were in Captain America: Winter Solider. Again, brothers in battle and team mates. It’s a nice detail with them taking this stance; it’s smart and a great character moment. 

Both Sides of the War Shown

 

Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and the Winter Solider. 

versus

 

Black Panther, Iron Man, Vision, Black Widow, and War Machine. 

Now this is the first time we’ve seen Ant-Man in footage (sweet new duds, too) and both teams in a stoic stance before all Hell breaks loose. It’s a tense moment that leaves you wanting more. 

Number One With a Bullet

 

Okay, this is the coolest moment and definitely shows off the evolution of the Iron Man armor since the first movie. Stark has come up with even more ingenious ways to make the armor, even in pieces, more mobile. 

Tony catches a bullet with his gauntlet after Bucky tries to shoot him. It happens so fast, but to see these two finally square off is something fans are heavily anticipating.
