Most of you have very good memories from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story franchise. In fact, just at the mention of the film, that Randy Newman song ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me‘ is probably stuck in your head. The original Toy Story told a simple tale of what happened to your toys when you left the room. The animated film also looked at the difference between ‘new’ action figures like Buzz Lightyear and the ‘old’ ones like Mr. Potato head.

So what would happen if instead of Pixar telling the story – it was Bandai? Well we have our answer. In classic Japanimation style Japanese toy company, Tamashii Nations explains the idea for their upcoming toy line mashup:

WOODY ROBO SHERIFF STAR!!

Check out this video from Bandai explaining their new toy line that brings Voltron to Pixar.

The toy lineup currently includes Woody, Bullseye, Slinky Dog, Rex, Hamm and Woody Robo Sheriff Star, which is a combination of all the other parts. On their product launch site Tamashii Nations has fantastic bio descriptions for each of the characters

Bullseye forms the chest and right arm, and supports the robot. His arm can dish out a knockout punch with his finishing move, “Bassha Punch”! *Bassha is a pun on the horse-drawn carriage.

Forming the core of the robot is the well-known town sheriff, Woody! His hat is an airship. He is the control center of the robot.

With his characteristic spring body, Slinky Dog forms the left arm and can use the arresting move, “Star Wrapper”!

Solidly forming the right let is Rex! His knee spike can pulverize enemies. Usually nervous, when combined with friends, he’s full of courage!

Hamm is the left leg. He can shred enemies with his coin saw. His built-in thrusters help support his movement.

Included in the initial launch there will also be a Chogokin Toy Story picture book.
