The groups have teamed up a number of times in the comics, and obviously fans would love to see it happen — but he’s not sure it will.
“No, we haven’t spent a moment on it,” Di Bonaventura is quoted as telling MTV (video embedded below). “I know they did it in the comic books, but I think the reality that we’re looking at is…it’s hard enough to figure out how to do it alone and [then] trying to figure out how to do it together…I don’t think that it’s as organic as people think. I know a lot of the fans feel that way and I don’t think they’re wrong. I find it a harder thing to do, think about trying to combine the schedules of all the different people. So, that alone will probably stop us.”

Asked whether Michael Bay will direct the next film (the director has gone back and forth on whether he will or not), Di Bonaventura said, that he thinks so and he hopes so, and that he expects it to happen.
Transformers: Age of Extinction will hit theaters on Friday and the next installment in the franchise is expected to roll out in 2016.
