The Fast & Furious franchise has called many places home during it’s 14 years. The high speed franchise has raced around the world, stopping in Los Angeles, Miami, London, Brazil, and Tokyo. There’s one big city in particular that the series has never visited: New York.

That may change, soon, according to some teasing from franchise star Vin Diesel. Diesel, who plays Dominic Torretto, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to talk about Furious 7. After airing a new clipย featuring Diesel and the late Paul Walker, Kimmelย asked about the new additions to the franchise’s cast.
When Diesel talked about the addition of Kurt Russell, he prefaced it by stating,ย “I always think of these films multiple pictures in advance.” Diesel went on to admit, “Kurt Russell came in for this movie but we really hired him for a story that follows this that takes place in New York.”
Diesel, who also voices Groot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, clearly wants the franchise to continue. Regarding the future, there’sย “just some cool stuff that not everybody knows,” he says. It sure sounds like the Fast & Furious franchise will be making a trip to New York. With having to bid farewell to Walker’s Brian O’Connerย core-to-the-franchise character, it seems like the trilogy could continue away from home without him, should Universal choose to continue with an eighth or more installments.
