Jet Li, Deepika Padukone and Tony Jaa are joining the cast of Vin Diesel’s xXx sequel, according to Twitch Film. “We’re told Padukone will be lining up with the good guys but no word yet on whose team Li and Jaa will play on,” they report.
Li, 52, is the Chinese martial arts superstar best known stateside for his roles in Romeo Must Die (2000), The One (2001), and The Expendables films. Padukone, 29, is a Bollywood megastar who has made a name for herself with roles in Cocktail (2012), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), and Bajirao Mastani (2015). Jaa, 39, is a Thai martial arts film star known for his roles in Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior (2003), Tom-Yum-Goong (2005), and made his Hollywood debut in 2015’s Furious 7.

They’ll join a cast that already includes UFC fighter Conor McGregor and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier), who will be reprising his role as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons, the man responsible for turning notorious underground thrill-seeker Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) into the NSA’s super-spy.
The film is being directed by D.J. Caruso (I Am Number Four, Disturbia).
