The 7 Comics You Should Read This Week: September 27th Edition

It’s new comic day’s eve here at ComicBook.com, and with the myriad of excellent titles out on shelves right now, it can be easy to get a bit overwhelmed at the choices.

While your pull list might already be full, there are plenty of books that are worthy of your attention this Wednesday, including the seven books highlighted on this list. Whether the book is a great jumping on point, a big finale, or just something different than the predominant superhero fare, there’s something here for everyone.

Generations: Sam Wilson Captain America & Steve Rogers Captain America #1 is written by Nick Spencer with art by Paul Renaud. The description is included below.

Russ Burlingame: Action Comics #988

The shocking conclusion of “The OZ Effect” part one left fans reeling, and fans will finally learn just how this latest revelation happened and why in Action Comics #988.

This promises to have effects across the DCU, as Mr. Oz has been quite busy over the last few months, but that is nothing compared to what it will do to Superman. No spoilers here, but you can find out more about the big reveal here.

Matt Mueller: Buffy The Vampire Slayer #11 (Season 11)

The penultimate issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is here, and things are getting, well, a bit insane.

The series delivers another unexpected twist while also bringing back an extremely dangerous threat that just might be too much for Buffy’s army to hold off. If we’ve learned anything from Buffy over the years though, it is to never count the best Slayer there is out for the count.

If you’re behind on the series, you’re going to want to get caught up asap for the big finale next month. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it!

This is a bit of a crossroads for everyone’s favorite alternate universe web-slinger, but danger lurks in the shadows regardless of which path she takes.

While the predator storyline comes to a close, Matt Murdock isn’t quite done with her yet. That said, Murdock’s antics might not be anything compared to the coming of Gwenom.
