In Supergirl season 2, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) is now running Catco, but we haven’t seen all that much this season; however, he’ll get more screentime as he takes on the mantle of the classic DC Comics hero, Guardian. With his superhero suit, including the character’s trademark shield, Olsen will fight alongside Supergirl to protect National City.

Olsen’s Guardian makes his debut in next Monday’s “Changing” episode. You can watch a sneak preview in the video above and read an official synopsis directly below.

THE GUARDIAN DEBUTS IN NATIONAL CITY โ€“ The Guardian debuts to lend a hand after a parasite alien drains Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) of her power. Mon-El (Chris Wood) considers a less than desirable new career which then leads him to contemplate his motives. Alex (Chyler Leigh) struggles with a new reality.

Andrew Kreisberg and Caitlin Parris wrote the script based on the story by Greg Beranti. The episode was directed by Larry Teng.
