Supergirl‘s third season villain, the Worldkiller known as Reign, will be unique in that fans will see her evolve into the big bad, but with Reign not being the only Worldkiller comics there’s the possibility that Reign won’t be alone.

More than one Worldkiller might be possible, but as Odette Annable recently told Entertainment Weekly, it’s not something that’s come up — yet. The actress, who plays the single mom that becomes season three’s big bad, was asked if she was the only Worldkiller around.

“So far, it’s just me from what I know, but it would be cool if I was fighting and had this epic showdown and all of a sudden, my buddies came along to play,” Annable said. “I mean, being bad is good. It’s always fun.”

If you’re not familiar with Reign or Worldkillers, you’re likely not alone. Introduced in 2012, Reign’s history is a mystery even to her. She knows her name, that she’s a Worldkiller and not much else. As for Worldkillers themselves, in comics they’re bloodthirsty, uncontrollable, super-powerful biological weapons created on Krypton who are, as the name Worldkiller implies, a threat to all living beings. Five of these Worldkillers survived the destruction of Krypton, including Reign and as we saw at the end of last season, she was sent to Earth in a pod, much like Supergirl herself.

But even if Reign ends up not being alone, it will likely take some time any additional Worldkillers to show up. Annable also revealed that not only do we meet her as just an ordinary-seeming single mother, Samantha, the story that takes her from working mom to Worldkiller is a slow burn with a deeper story to unfold.

“What I think is really special about this storyline is it’s a slow play and you’ll get to see this whole heartbreaking story unfold in a really — they’re taking their time with it, and we have the time to do it,” Annable explained. “I think the audience is going to hopefully relate.”

Fans will get to meet Samantha and watch her evolve into Reign when Supergirl season three premieres Monday, October 9th, at 8/7c, on The CW.
