If there is one thing DC Comics fans are miffed about this week, it is the lack of Aquaman footage at San Diego Comic Con. Yes, the event did show a reel of footage from the movie, but DC Films is keeping the clip on the down-low. However, that is not to say there is no Aquaman news coming.

Just go check out Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and his Twitter. The Black Manta actor is teasing one important first-look on his social media profiles.

Over on Twitter, the Aquaman actor sent fans into a frenzy when Abdul-Mateen answered a fan’s question. A netizen asked the actor when he will “tease the manta head armor,” and the star said tomorrow. As this tweet was sent out yesterday evening, fans are hoping the actor will post a photo of himself donning Black Manta’s iconic headgear in a matter of hours.

Abdul-Mateen’s teasing did not stop there. Shortly after the actor answered the fan, he posted a photo of Black Manta unmasked with the caption “Tomorrow AND Tomorrow AND TOMORROW” complete with a devil emoji. Abdul-Mateen then finished his tirade with a short message that reads, “Goodnight from Aussie land!! I love you all and I’ll See you onโ€ฆ Tomorrow.”

If you are not familiar with Black Manta, then you should know the villain has a special place in Aquaman lore. The baddie is Arthur Curry’s main nemesis, and the pair have one complicated history. In the comics, Black Manta and his father are treasure seekers who get asked to nab a vial of blood from the Aquaman.

When Manta’s father brings his son along on the mission to confront Arthur Curry, the pair are derailed with the boy’s father appears. Aquaman’s dad fends the duo off, but he dies shortly afterwards from a heart attack. Arthur then seeks out the duo for retribution, but things go awry and he ends up accidentally killing Manta’s father. The villain takes up his moniker from that point on and seeks revenge for his father’s death as he holds Aquaman accountable.
