Spoilers for tonight’s episode of Arrow below!

While tonight’s episode of Arrow primarily took place in Team Arrow’s bunker, arguably the most important moment happened far away from Star City.
In the closing moments of ‘Underneath‘, Adrian Chase/Prometheus (Josh Segarra) tracked down a young boy who ended up being William, Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) son. William has been absent from the series since last season, when Oliver sent him and his mother into witness protection for their safety from Damien Darhk.
Now going by Matthew, William was stopped by a plain-clothed Chase, who, in a cliffhanger moment, revealed his twisted connection to William’s father.
Chase tracking down William seemed inevitable with the recent direction the show has been going. Aside from, of course, the topic of William coming up throughout tonight’s episode, the seed was first planted in the episode ‘Kapiushon’. In it, Chase pulled out a picture of William during his torturing of Oliver, hinting that he was more than aware of the hero’s secret son – and possibly where to find him.
With that in mind, fans are probably wondering what will happen to William in next week’s episode, ‘Honor Thy Fathers‘. The episode’s title suggests that William will probably come into play in some way – but hopefully not a particularly grisly one.
The promo for the episode shows an anonymous corpse being shipped to Oliver’s office, but it’s unclear whether or not that corpse is William. At first glance, the body appears to be too big to be William – but it could still be someone close to him. A likely – albeit dark – possibility is William’s mom, Samantha. Not only has she also been missing from the show for almost a season, but it’s unclear whether or not Chase has already visited her prior to meeting William at the bus stop.
Another possibility, especially considering the episode’s title, is that Robert Queen’s body is inside the coffin. While Robert died in Arrow‘s first episode, Oliver later buried his body on the shore of Lian Yu. And considering the great lengths Chase has gone to ruin Oliver’s life, him traveling to Lian Yu and digging up Robert’s long-decomposed body doesn’t seem out of possibility.
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. Oliver returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), former police captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum).
Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity โ but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.
