Oh boy. It looks like things are about to get dark for the folks over at DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Following the show’s midseason return, the superhero squad found themselves on the hunt for Rip after the Time Master was taken captive by the Legion of Doom. And, now, it seems like the team will likely be bumping into one of the DC Universe’s omens of death.

NEXT: Teddy Sears On Black Flash Returning
That’s right – Black Flash is back, and he’s heading over to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Marc Guggenheim let the secret slip.
“We’re going to be seeing the Black Flash on Legends,” Guggenheim explained.
Of course, fans are not totally shocked by the revelation. After all, the Legion of Doom does include Eobard Thawne. The latter was a primary villain on The Flash as Thawne made a name for himself as the Reverse-Flash. The baddie was the man responsible for killing Nora Allen and found himself trapped in new timeline after doing so. Determined to get home, Eobard manipulated Barry Allen’s life to ensure he became the Flash, but Eobard was ultimately stopped from reconnecting with the Speed Force thanks to Eddie. The younger man, who was a descendant of Eobard, chose to kill himself to wipe Reverse-Flash from history. But, since time remnants of Eobard remained, the villain was ultimately left alive in other timelines like the one tapped into in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Now, it could be that Eobard is being hunted down by the Black Flash thanks to his evil doings. In the second season of The Flash, fans watched as the speedster Zoom was turned into Black Flash in his last moments. There’s no word on whether actor Teddy Sears will be able to reprise the role, but it will be interesting to see Hunter Zolomon come in contact with Eobard as a speed-induced Grim Reaper.
Guggenheim went on to tease that lots of speed-centric characters will be featured on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. “Lily Stein, who was introduced in Flash 308, makes an appearance next week. So there’s a fair amount of Flash-ness going on in Legends,” he explained.

Earlier in the year, fans learned that Black Flash would be returning, but they did not know in what capacity. During a press tour, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg could only say that fans “might be seeing him on multiple shows.”
