Those who have had the privilege of meeting Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot have commented on how approachable and kind she is, but her work ethic is also one of her most laudable attributes. That’s the only reason someone would actually film fight scenes while pregnant.

That’s exactly what happened though as Gadot was called back to the set of Wonder Woman for reshoots (via EW). The kicker though was she happened to be 5 mounts pregnant while doing so, which necessitated a costume tweak to accommodate the baby bump. They had to cut a triangle out of the front of the suit, replacing it with green cloth so they could fix it in post production. “On close-up, I looked very much like Wonder Woman,” Gadot says. “On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog.”
Director Patty Jenkins commended Gadot’s hard work, saying “She’s pregnant during part of the movie, in a suit out in a field in the freezing cold in others,” she says. “There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you’re doing it. Now it’s raining in the freezing cold and you’ve lost your voice, go. Everyday it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it. Now, at least, we will be able to tell her [new] daughter Maya that she’s in her mom’s stomach right then, in the middle of that battle scene.”
Despite her limited mobility, producer Charles Roven said she still delivered an amazing performance. “Part of what we were doing was augmenting some of the final action piece,” says Wonder Woman producer Chuck Roven. “She couldn’t do a huge amount of physical activity but she was being aggressive. She still had to be fierce. That was special. I’ve been doing this for awhile but I’ve never that had that experience before.”
